Folk Association of South Hants
About FASH
![]() FASH was set up on the dissolution of the South Hants District of the English Folk Dance and Song Society in 1994. We are still affiliated to EFDSS.
The Objectives of FASH are
Membership of FASH is cheap and easy. It costs just £10 per year and entitles you to a £3 reduction on any workshops you attend, as well as cheaper advertising in Solent Waves. You can join at a workshop, or if you prefer you can do it easily online - instructions are on the membership form here. You can also fill out the form and send it to the Treasurer (see our contacts page). Requests for financial support for 'Folk' related activities should be sent to the Secretary (see our contacts page). Please provide details of project(s) involved etc. and the telephone number of your Group contact. We also maintain an email mailing list and can thus send out mass emails to everyone interested with details of the next workshop, as a prompt. We also use this list to tell people if we have any sudden emergency. We have had, very occasionally, to cancel or change workshops, due to heavy snow, flooding or illness. To be included on this list, just send an email to info@fash.org.uk saying whether you wish to be notified of dance events or music events or both. The General Data Protection Regulation requires us to state that we keep personal information (such as your e-mail address or your house address) whether it is in a database or e-mail address list, or even as a paper copy, and describe how we use it. It also requires that you 'opt in', i.e. you will need to tell us that you agree to our holding this information. The full text of the FASH Privacy Policy can be read/downloaded here. We always welcome comments or questions related to folk; feel free to call or email any of the committee members. Everyone is especially welcome at our AGM; the 2023 AGM was held on May 14th on Zoom. The minutes of the 2023 AGM can be downloaded here with links included to the accounts and the several committee members' reports. If you think you might be able to join the committee and help promote folk activities in our area, please contact any of us via the contacts page.
